Thanksgiving should be a time of joy, family, and gratitude. But for many families in our community, it can also bring stress — wondering how to afford a meal that others may take for granted. At Ella’s Angels, we believe no family should go without the warmth of a holiday dinner. That’s why this year, we’re on a mission to raise $4,500 to provide 100 complete Thanksgiving meal bags for families in Long Beach.

 

What’s in a Thanksgiving Bag?

Each bag is carefully planned to include everything needed for a traditional holiday meal:

  • Turkey (10–12 lbs)
  • Stuffing mix
  • Potatoes for mashing
  • Canned corn
  • Green beans
  • Carrots
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Pumpkin pie (or pie kit)
  • Butter
  • Dinner rolls
  • Gravy mix or canned gravy
  • Small treat or dessert item

These bags aren’t just groceries — they’re full Thanksgiving dinners, ready to cook and serve, so families can focus on being together instead of worrying about the cost.

 

Why $4,500?

Through partnerships with generous grocers like Albertsons (who are giving us deep discounts) and community supporters, we’ve calculated that $45 can provide one entire bag for one family. Multiply that by 100 families, and our total goal is $4,500. Every dollar raised goes directly toward food and supplies.

 

The Community is Already Stepping Up

We’ve already seen amazing generosity — including a $100 donation from a local grocery store to help kick off the campaign. Combined with Albertsons’ discounted pricing, it means every donation goes further. What might seem like a small contribution adds up to something life-changing when we come together as a community.
